Well today is the same gloomy weather it has been for the past 5 or so days. Thick grey cloud covering the sky and very cold and damp. A few days ago we had such sunny weather here and it really felt like Spring had finally arrived. However it was not to be and we are plunged back into the depths of winter again. I'm keeping an eye on the weather forecast in case there is a break from this cold snap and I'm hoping that warmer weather is on the way soon. For me Spring is such an inspiring time of year and gives me all sorts of new ideas for the miniature world. I really shouldn't grumble so much about our weather here in the UK as I know that recently a lot of people in the USA have been hit very hard with severe snow storms that have left people without power and unable to get out of their homes. Thankfully we just don't get snow like that in the UK. I'm thinking of you guys in the USA and hoping the snow melts away for you soon and that normal everyday life resumes soon :)
I'm loving the peaches and cream colours at the moment and have created a couple more pieces for the 1/4 scale dollhouse. I have created a new wardrobe and a breakfast table with 2 chairs. The wardrobe measures 1 & 5/8ths inches tall, just over 7/8ths of an inch in width and just over 5/8ths of an inch in depth. It is a very elegant piece with hand painted peach roses on the front doors (non opening). The table and chairs have been hand painted with the same peach rose design. The table is just under 5/8ths of an inch in height and 3/4 of an inch in diameter. Both of these items will be available on my ebay site for auction (seller:fizzyclaret) from this evening :)

Quarter scale and twelfth scale dollhouse furniture and accessories
Here are three of the items that I will be listing on ebay this evening. The first is a cute mushroom fairy house teapot which isn't twelfth scale as it's too big but makes a cute little addition to a miniature teapot collector. The second photo is a miniature flower basket. I can't seem to stop making flower baskets at the moment! The third is a quarter scale (1/48th scale) side board made from mount board and decorated with acrylic paints (the doors are decoration only and do not open). I decided to stick with the peaches and cream colours so that it matches the shelf unit I made a few days ago. All of the above items will be up for auction tonight (ends next Sunday) on my ebay site seller:fizzyclaret.

1/4 scale dollhouse peaches and cream furniture
This is my first ever attempt at making mount board furniture. For my first piece I decided to create a lovely shabby chic style peaches and cream coloured shelf unit for a 1/4 scale dollhouse. The unit measures 2 inches tall (to the top of the flowers), 7/8ths of an inch in width and just under 1/2 of an inch in depth. The tiny teapots measure 5/16ths of an inch in height. It took me quite a while to create and I ended up with 2 blisters on my hands (I must get a more comfortable craft knife) from all the cardboard cutting. I think it turned out quite pretty for a first attempt and I am going to be creating some more intricate pieces now as I have lots of new ideas. This shelf unit will be for sale on my ebay site (seller:fizzyclaret) from tomorrow evening and the miniature teapots and flowers will be included. I'm also considering doing a one off piece of 1/4 scale furniture as a give away within the next couple of months so if you're interested in being entered for the draw then please leave a comment. As soon as I have a piece ready then I'll post the photos here. Catch up soon :)

Miniature basket, peacocks and bunny rabbits
I'm still sticking with the Easter theme at the moment. I'm absolutely desperate for the weather to warm up and to see the first flowers of Spring. At the moment it is snowing heavily outside and is bitterly cold so there isn't much sign of Spring at the moment. Nevermind I have the wonderful world of Pinterest.com at my finger tips and I love to browse through lovely Spring pictures there to keep up my inspiration. The items pictured above are what I have made this week and they will be placed on ebay for auction tomorrow (seller:fizzyclaret).
I'm still working on the shelves but not having much luck with it at the moment. Whenever I struggle to make something I tend to walk away from it but this time I'm determined to try working with some new materials and see if I can make something pretty. Fingers crossed it will work :)

Miniature shabby chic dollhouse teapots
This week I have made some lovely little 1/12 scale dollhouse teapots with pretty rose blossoms coming out of the tops. These teapots would look great in a little cottage or a house with a shabby chic theme. The teapots will be placed in my etsy shop today and you will be able to buy them there http://www.etsy.com/shop/fizzyclaret?ref=si_shop
Next week I'm going to try to make some shelving for the teapots so they can be displayed properly and shown to their best. I'm not sure of which design I'll use but I'm going to work on something this weekend and see what I can come up with. I usually work with polymer clay but I'd like to try something a little different. I came across a blog which teaches you how to make 1/12 scale miniature furniture and accessories. I instantly fell in love with this blog as everything is so well explained with lots of helpful photographs. The blog is http://1inchminisbykris.blogspot.co.uk/ please check it out as it really is amazing. After reading the tutorial on 'how to make a kitchen dresser' I felt so inspired to try my hand at mount board shelves so this is what I'll be trying to make next. It'll probably be a disaster to start with but fingers crossed I can manage to make something pretty.
